fearsome oekaki
Fearsome is in Low Power Mode!

What's that mean for you, discerning pixel poker? Most likely, what you see is what you get. Some parts of the site may not be working 100%, and there's a possibility that if it's broken, it might stay that way for a while.

If you can't log in to your account, drop a line. We should be able to reset your user flags.
If you can't get the applet to run, make sure your Java installation is up to date, and make sure you're drawing with ChickenPaint; the other applets are mostly deprecated, and might not successfully post your art (if you can even load them up at all).

fixed the line art sorta

Just tighten up your shading 'cause it looks a little flat and you'll be good to go, I think. (Winking doesn't really do it for me but I think it does for some people. Honestly I've never seen a real person wink and have it not look like constipation, so.)

You sure it's not mebbe premenstrual time?

By golly, every time I get complained at for not paying attention to a chick, it's days before. And then later she's apologizing about being so naff.

There's something very pop-ish about this picture. I think it's the crazy space and bright colours. I like it!

haven't drawn here for a while, and I'm really sorry if this pic really isn't up to par. I really didn't know what to do with the background. sorry if it causes an eyesore.
Erie @ Friday, June 6th 2008, 7:13 PM
Try again, and make something a little more coherent. It looks a little random. your shadowing technique is good but remember that things only usually cast a shadow one direction, not all directions.
reign @ Friday, June 6th 2008, 7:33 PM
Hm. I like the elements of the drawing, but I'm not certain if they all work together, so to speak. For instance, the background, while lovely, doesn't work with the more somber mood you have going with the woman. It draws attention from her, in fact, and I believe she's supposed to be the main focus. The lines would also benefit from being cleaner/more defined.

I enjoy your shading, particularly the hair. It's very soft.
Sady @ Saturday, June 7th 2008, 3:14 PM
It's the solid lines and watercolors. They RARELY go together, and they don't in this instance. It's very sloppy and the color bleeds out of the lines everywhere.

It's just not a good combination.
fruitcake elemental @ Wednesday, June 11th 2008, 8:58 AM
Erie, are you some sort of facist art director or something? You should really leave your work at work; life will be more fun. It would be a completely different tune if your comments were actually helpful to the artist, but you just sound like someone who thinks all art is solely created for you.

I like the shading on her hair, however I'll have to agree with Reign about the background. It's nice, but doesn't really suit the mood. Something darker would draw the main focus to the character.
